In 2014, she was voted Best Acupuncturist in the Vue Magazine Best of Edmonton Reader's poll.
Andrea has completed additional professional development at Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine University (Nanning, China), the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (San Francisco, USA) and Harvard University (Cambridge, USA). Travelling to Managua, Nicaragua in association with Change For Children in 2007 was a life changing experience and helped deepen her understanding of the care of children with acupuncture.
Passionate about the care of children, Andrea also started People Powered Medicine, an informal group of healthcare professionals dedicated to volunteering their time to deliver free seminars to parents about children's health and development. In her spare time, Andrea likes to sing, scrapbook, and enjoy family life.
Lynda House, Registered Nurse (retired)
Lynda is Andrea's Mom and the office manager of Acupuncture Works! A retired nurse, Lynda enjoys spending time with the families that visit the office, especially the children. Lynda ensures that the clients receive individualized attention. Whether it's knowing who needs a juicebox after acupuncture, or predicting who will need a refill of their herbs, she is more than the person who answers the phone. She is an avid sock-monkey crafter, a golfer, and the heart of the business.
I feel privileged to spend time with people while they are working on their healthcare goals. Every day, I try to learn and grow along side my clients, and I endeavor to serve them with the best parts of my heart and mind.
